SOURCED ACROSS EUROPE. PERMITTED IN THE DESTINATION COUNTRY.02 / PARALLEL IMPORT

WHAT PARALLEL IMPORT MEANS

The same product.
A different sourcing market.

The price of the same plant protection product can differ between EU countries. Parallel imports — referred to as parallel trade in regulatory terminology — make use of that difference. A product already authorised in the destination country is purchased in another EU country and placed on the destination market. The products must be identical, and the competent authority must confirm this.

EU plant protection legislation explicitly provides for parallel trade. In Austria, permits are issued by the Austrian Federal Office for Food Safety; in Germany, by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety. The product may not be sold without the permit.

Wholesalers often need a partner to handle sourcing abroad, the regulatory procedure and labelling. This is our core business.

HOW WE WORK

Six steps.
One responsible partner.

01

Requirements and reference product

Tell us which product you want to distribute in Austria or Germany. We check whether it is authorised in the destination country and where it is available within the EU.

02

Sourcing

We purchase the product through our supplier network in another EU country. Availability and price determine the source.

03

Proof of identity

We demonstrate to the authority that the imported and reference products are identical in composition, manufacturer and formulation.

04

Permit

The authority issues the parallel trade permit. We maintain it in subsequent years and pay the annual fee.

05

Translation and labelling

The instructions for use receive a certified translation. Containers and outer packaging receive German-language labels in accordance with the authorisation requirements.

06

Delivery

You receive a product that is permitted in the destination country, correctly labelled and documented, with the documents required for your own record-keeping obligations.

WHY YOU CAN RELY ON US

Every delivery
stands up to scrutiny.

Buyers need to be confident that parallel-imported plant protection products are legally on the market. We make each step transparent:

  • Permitted products only: no supply without a permit from the authority in the destination country.
  • Complete labelling: German-language labels and instructions for use, including outer packaging.
  • Traceable origin: you know what you are buying and can document it to customers and inspectors.
  • Supply to wholesalers and industry partners only: no direct sales to farmers.

What comes with every delivery

  • the parallel trade permit for the product in the destination country,
  • the certified translation of the instructions for use,
  • the German-language label used on the containers and outer packaging,
  • the safety data sheet in German.

What we do not do

We do not sell to farmers. We do not supply products without a permit in the destination country or place goods on the market without German-language labelling. If a product cannot obtain a permit, we tell you openly.

WHO WE WORK WITH

For wholesalers
and manufacturers.

01

Wholesalers and cooperatives

Secure supply and purchasing terms without managing the regulatory process yourself. Enquiries for the next season are best made in autumn, allowing time for sourcing and permits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Brief answers.

Are parallel imports legal?

Yes, where the competent authority in the destination country has issued a parallel trade permit. EU plant protection legislation provides the basis. Sale without a permit is prohibited.

How can I recognise a correctly parallel-imported product?

By its permit number, German-language labelling and instructions for use, and the supplier’s ability to provide the permit. We supply these documents with every delivery.

Is the product really identical?

This is a condition of the permit. The authority checks composition and origin and confirms identity with the reference product. We supply only products for which this confirmation exists.

Which countries do the products come from?

EU member states, depending on the product and availability. The source country is included in the permit documentation you receive from us.
